Microsoft is releasing a software update to Xbox Live network that aims to transform the video game console into a TV offering.
According to Microsoft, it is the future of the TV which can transform Xbox 360 into an all-in-one device to enjoy your entertainment.
Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Xbox Live Marc Whitten said on the official company blog, "The update is another huge step toward realizing our vision of bringing you all your entertainment, shared with the people you care about, in an easy way."
This upgrade, with enhanced streaming video options, allows users to control TV content via Microsoft’s Kinect motion-control sensor by talking or waving of hands.
Microsoft is reportedly adding content from 40 new partners simultaneously enabling users to view existing content better.
ESPN, Hulu, Netflix and MSNBC are its new content partners in the US.
