Microsoft to launch Surface Windows 8 Pro on 9 February

Surface Windows 8 Pro will be powered by an Intel Core i5 processor

Microsoft announced plans to launch the second series of itsSurface Windows 8 Pro tablet computer on 9 February 2013 in the US and Canada.

The tablet will be powered by an Intel Core i5 processor and will be available in 64 GB and 128 GB models.

Surface Windows 8 Pro tablet will be 0.53 inches thick, weigh two pounds and will be thicker and heavier than the RT.

The tablet will be available for $899 and it will come with 4GB of RAM and 1,920×1,080 HD display.

Microsoft Surface general manager Panos Panay said: "We are also pumped about all the anticipation and excitement in regards to Surface Windows 8 Pro."

The device comes with a Surface Pen that uses the Palm Block technology to allow writing and drawing on Surface Windows 8 Pro.

The company plans to launch the product in 13 more markets in the near future.

Microsoft had reported that it sold about 60 million units of Windows 8 since its launch in October 2012.
