Microsoft rolls out upgrades to Surface Pro 3 Wi-Fi

Battery life also fixed in July updates.

By Ben Sullivan

Microsoft released a plethora of updates to its brand new Surface Pro 3 ‘laptop replacement’ yesterday, addressing issues arounf Wi-Fi and battery life.

One of the firmware fixes helps to reduce power consumption, with another helping in the pincer movement to ‘enhance battery life’.

There is a further wireless network controller update which aims to reduce the power the Surface Pro 3 uses in a low power state. Microsoft said: "We will also issue an update on Wednesday, July 16, to further improve Wi-Fi connection and throughput scenarios."

Microsoft also advised Surface Pro 3 users that they may have to check Windows Update if they have not yet received the fixes.

"When Surface updates are provided via the Windows Update service, they are delivered in stages to Surface customers. As a result, not every Surface will receive the update at the same time, but the update will be delivered to all devices. If you have not received the update, please manually check Windows Update later."
