Xbox one

Microsoft has officially launched its Xbox One gaming console on Friday in some cities of the UK and the US.

The new gaming console launched eight years after Xbox 360, is expected to strengthen Microsoft’s position in gaming device market and compete with Sony, which has launched its PlayStation 4 a week ago.

According to the company, the Xbox One console allows users to get multiplayer alerts while watching TV and enables them to keep watching TV while playing on it.

Xbox chief marketing and strategy officer Yusuf Mehdi said the company continues to be on track for the biggest launch in Xbox history.

"We’re building the largest volume of consoles that we’ve ever done," Mehdi said.

Xbox One comes with 22 titles and 10 games that are claimed to be available only with the device, while offering better experiences with voice and motion control options.

Xbox chief product officer Marc Whitten said the company has the best community of gamers around the world, and this was on full display last night.

"Today is the beginning of the future of entertainment, and we could not be more proud to deliver Xbox One to fans around the world," Whitten added.
