Microsoft’s rival to Apple’s Siri, Cortana, will now be available on selected iPhone, Android and Cyanogen OS.

The Windows maker has also rolled out new features to the voice assistance that will enable users to complete task across different devices.

Some of the new features include setting of location-based reminders on one device and seeing it on another device when the user closes in on the destination.

With the improved Cortana app, users will also get missed call alert on their Windows 10 PC and it will allow the system to text back the caller.

Users will be able to track flights, packages and more using Cortana phone and PC.

Cortana Group programme manager Marcus Ash said: "While the Cortana app is fully-featured, there are some things Cortana can do on Windows phones that aren’t currently possible with iOS or Android.

"This includes toggling settings or opening apps, and the ability to invoke Cortana hands-free by saying "Hey Cortana."

"The ‘Phone Companion’ app on your Windows 10 PC will help you install the Cortana app from the Google Play or Apple App Store onto your phone so you’ll be able to take the intelligence of Cortana with you, wherever you go."

Microsoft teamed up with Cyanogen in order to bring an integrated experience to enable Cortana’s voice activation ‘Hey Cortana’ on Cyanogen devices.

The custom integration will allow users to ask Cortana to toggle network modes, power down your phone, and turn on Quiet Mode amongst other features.
