Micros-to-Mainframes Inc, the New-York-based commercial network integration firm, wants to buy or be bought, and has retained Taglich Brothers, D’Amadeo, Wagner and Co Inc to help it find a suitable technically-related company for merger or acquisition. Taglish will find IT and e-commerce related companies for evaluation. MTM was almost acquired last year by troubled systems integrator BTG Inc, which eventually pulled out of the deal for financial considerations. MTM demanded a $500,000 termination fee (CI No 3,349). President and CEO Stephen Rothman said that mergers and acquisitions were an integral part of its long-term strategic growth plan. He said he expected consolidation in the network engineering, management and consultancy business to continue and possibly to increase over the next two years. MTM saw revenue growth of 20% this year to $70m.
