Redmond, Washington-based Microrim Inc has four products to enable personal computer users to access and manipulate data in Oracle, Ingres and Rdb databases running on Digital Equipment Corp VAX machines under VMS: the products are the Vanguard edition of R:Base and Vanguard Data Connectors to each of the three server databases; system requirements for Vanguard products include AT and PS/2 computers and their compatibles with MS-DOS 3.1 or higher or OS/2 1.1 or higher, 1Mb of main memory and a 7Mb minimum hard disk drive; the single unit price for each connector is $5,000 and $1,000 for each group of five users thereafter, and prices for the R:Base/V client are $1,000for the first user and $1,000 for clusters of five users thereafter.
