Micropolis Corp, Chatsworth, California warns that earnings per share for the second quarter are likely to be below the 20 cents reported for the second quarter of 1990: it says that orders expected within the past two weeks from OEM customers for delivery in June have not materialised at the expected level, particularly for the 1580 Series 760Mb 5.25 disk drives; it also said that intensive price competition in the distribution market, including a significant price cut by one of its competitors, occurred in the last half of the quarter and will adversely impactoperating margins, and that the effects will continue this year.
