Boise, Idaho-based Micron Technology Inc is not just a pretty memory chip-maker: its Micron Display Technology Inc subsidiary says it has developed an early field emission display prototype and suggests that such displays could eventually achieve better image quality than active matrix liquid crystal displays at lower production costs; the prototype monochrome display has 700 pixel per inch resolution.
