Micron Technology, a provider of advanced semiconductor offerings, is expanding its memory chip production facility in northern Virginia.
The company said that it will invest $56m in the expansion of Manassas production facility which will create 123 new jobs.
Micron manufactures and markets a full range of DRAM, NAND Flash and NOR Flash memory, and other memory technologies, packaging offerings and semiconductor systems for use in computing, consumer, networking, embedded and mobile products.
The company employs more than 20,000 workers worldwide, in Virginia, Utah, Italy, Israel, Singapore, China and Malaysia.
Micron chairman and CEO Steve Appleton said the company enjoys a strong relationship with Virginia, and they applaud Governor McDonnell and the Commonwealth for helping foster an environment where their business and team members can thrive.
