Personal computer systems company Microinform has signed a distribution agreement with Soft-tronik for the Lexicon word processing package in the former Soviet Union. Lexicon is a very popular Cyrillic word processor and there are tens of thousands of users in Russia. However since its launch last spring, Microinform has been able to sell just 500 copies of Lexicon. Microinform is now to introduce incentives for illegal users to register their copies. For a nominal fee of 300 roubles, users of illegal copies will be able to register and will be eligible for a 15% discount on new versions.
