Richardson, Texas-based Micrografx Inc warns that a fire in the Franz Maas BV factory in Venlo, Netherlands, has destroyed a part of the product inventories for products destined to be shipped in Europe: the fire broke out during the lunch hour on the premises of the large Dutch freight and distribution company that has recently begun assembling Micrografx products for European distribution; there were no injuries and the value of the – insured – inventories destroyed has not been determined, but the disruption is expected to interrupt assembly of products for about a week, and some print components destroyed require four to six week lead times, so filling orders for some products could be adversely affected for some period of time.
