MICRODYNE ADDS MAJOR GATEWAY LINES TO ITS NOVELL PRODUCT HAUL

By CBR Staff Writer

Microdyne Corp, Alexandria, Virginia is becoming an inveterate snapper-up of unconsidered trifles in the local area networking field, and having taken over Novell Inc’s unwanted remaining hardware products, it has now agreed to take some of struggling Gateway Communications Inc’s lines off the Irvine, California company’s hands. It is paying about $2.4m for inventory, technology and fixed assets, subject to Gateway shareholders’ approval, of the EtherTwist Ethernet adaptors, Ethernet micro-hubs, WNIM Asynchronous Adaptors, LAN Expander, LAN Expander 4-Port, LAN Access Server and Stackable 12-Port Hubs. Microdyne has also agreed to offer some of the Gateway products as Gateway products by Microdyne.
