Microcom Inc, the wholly-owned networking subsidiary of Compaq Computer Corp, is now offering its Carbon Copy remote access software for the Windows CE handheld market. With the software, remote handheld users can send and receive e-mail, update databases and access applications, and network managers can monitor and control their NT servers through a dial-up connection. Microcom says that Carbon Copy currently has an installed base of two million users on all windows operating systems and MS DOS. Pocket Carbon Copy is available now and costs $90 for the full CE version – for both the handheld and the Windows95/NT desktop. The handheld version only costs $50.
