MICROCHIP TECH PLANS INDIAN SUBSIDIARY

Microchip Technologies Inc, the $396m US-based microcontroller manufacturer, plans to upgrade its India liaison office to a subsidiary this year. It is examining the prospects of setting up a microcontroller design center in Bangalore. It plans to go in for silicon designing in the country in view of lower costs and design skills available.
