MicroAge Inc, Phoenix, Arizona is to become the first distributor to be allowed to assemble Sun Microsystems Inc’s UltraSparc systems, Electrical Engineering Times reports. The paper says the two are expected to announce a letter of intent for an agreement under which MicroAge will begin offering Sun’s Ultra AX Server Engine for resellers wanting to build personal computer-class Netra intranet or Internet servers, marking the first time Sun’s UltraSparc systems and Solaris Unix will be made available to resellers in a personal computer PCI bus and ATX chassis form factor capable of taking standard add-ons.
