MicroAge Inc has responded to reports in Business Week that it is considering the sale of Pinacor, its distribution business. Tempe, Arizona-based MicroAge says that it continues to explore financial options for Pinacor designed to enhance shareholder value. MicroAge’s chairman and CEO Jeffrey McKeever refused to comment on any specific transactions. Pinacor was formed as a separate division from $4bn MicroAge Inc back in March (CI No 3,381) as part of a re-structuring operation designed to spilt the distribution and systems integration arms of the firm. It claims to be the third largest distributor in the US, and is a top-tier Compaq distributor.
