Birmingham-based Micro-Integration UK has enhanced its 5250 Remote Gateways and they are now capable of routing information for up to 256 personal computers: up to 16 gateway servers emulating 5394 control units can operate on one local area network, each supporting 16 logical sessions; previously, only four servers emulating 5394 control units could operate on one network, each supporting eight logical sessions; a remote adaptor handler is included with the gateway and it supports AS/400 PC support for each session; this enables users to access functions like shared folders, workstation function, virtual printer and transfer function; also, users can run office automation packages like OfficeVision/400 and the gateway supports emulation of IBM’s 3180 model 2 display; it is available in PC/AT and micro channel architecture bus versions.
