MICRO FOCUS’ ET COBOL JOINS RANGE OF COMPILERS MARKETED BY NCR

By CBR Staff Writer

Micro Focus Plc, already the resident supplier of Cobol compilers for the top-selling NCR Tower line of Unix supermicros, has added its new Level II Cobol/ET compiler to the range it supplies for marketing by NCR: ET Cobol is designed to enable mainframe and mini applications written in ANSI 74 Cobol to be migrated onto Unix systems – particularly important in the NCR context since ANSI 74 Cobol was the unifying factor that linked NCR’s disparate 8100, 8200 and 8300 small business computers in the 1970s.
