Legacy modernisation vendor Micro Focus has announced a partnership with T-Systems that will see its technology used to undertake a number of strategic modernisation projects for the ICT Services provider.
The deal will give T-Systems’ blue-chip customers access to Micro Focus’ technologies and products, helping them to undertake strategic modernisation projects. For companies that do not want to spend heavily on installing a new IT system during the recession, this partnership should enable them to improve the systems they already have in place.
James Dalziel, UK vice president of T-Systems said: “We are delighted to progress our working relationship with Micro Focus. We are committed to helping our customers address current market conditions by reducing IT costs and teaming with Micro Focus enables us to offer the best modernisation opportunities available.”
David Stephenson, UK country manager of Micro Focus said: “Business leaders have to reduce costs in today’s recession and effective IT modernisation is moving onto every CIO’s agenda. Partnering with T-Systems is a powerful combination that enables Micro Focus to further consolidate its leadership in application management. This partnership has already delivered compelling customer benefits and the pipeline of further business opportunities is very significant.”
T-Systems is owned by Deutsche Telekom and provides information and communication technology (ICT) to multinational corporations and public institutions. It employs around 46,000 people worldwide and generated around €11bn in revenue during 2008.
