MICRO D BUYS CANADIAN DISTRIBUTOR

Micro D Inc, Santa Ana, California has acquired Frantek Computer Products Inc of Ottawa, Ontario for an undisclosed sum in cash and notes. Frantek is described as a national Canadian distributor of software and hardware microcomputer products, founded in 1982 in Ontario as a regional software distributor. Since then it has expanded its line and has become a national distributor of hardware and software, particularly to business and government; majoring on the Apple Macintosh market. Sales for the 10 months to February 27 are put at $Can10.1m.
