The UK Micom-Borer Ltd subsidiary of Micom Systems Ltd , has rushed out an announcement that the acquisition of its parent by Odyssey Partners (CI No 1,017) will not have any direct impact on the UK company: from Odyssey’s viewpoint, it says, the UK operation represents a highly successful business that makes a substantial contribution to profits – we are an autonomous operation and hope to remain so but should there be any indications that this position might change, we have secured the necessary resources that will facilitate a management buy-out; Odyssey has indicated that it plans a piecemeal sale of part or all of the company.
