Metrologie UK Ltd has reorganised its operations into four divisions encompassing end-user sales, value added distribution, wholesale product distribution and services. The High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire-based company says that the restructuring is a direct consequence of the Trinitec Plc and Rapid Recall Ltd merger which took place back in September 1990 (CI No 1,509). The new divisions are Metrologie Corporate, Metrologie VA, Metrologie Distribution and Metrologie Services. The corporate division, formerly Rapid Recall, will handle end-user business. It is the company’s systems integration and networking arm and represents a number of manufacturers including DEC, IBM, Zenith and Wyse. Metrologie VA will focus on value added distribution to resellers, and its portfolio will include mid-range systems from DEC, Wyse, Intel and MIPS, as well as a range of Unix software. Intel distributor Conformix, and X terminal distributor Amarante, are to be absorbed into Metrologie VA. Metrologie Distribution, formerly Trinitec Winners, deals with wholesale distribution of personal computers, peripherals and sub-systems, primarily to dealers. Currently, the division has franchises for Wyse, Zenith, Canon, Mannesman Tally and Seagate equipment. Metrologie Services will offer consultancy, training, maintenance, network design and installation, systems management and commissioning. The restructured company will also have a Strategic Product Marketing group to work with manufacturers and suppliers to harmonise strategies.
