Metalogix Software, a provider of migration, restore, and archiving products for Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint, has released Universal SharePoint Manager v2007 (USPM), a new management platform with features that reduce SharePoint administration and support tasks.

Metalogix said that through a central framework, the new USPM enables SharePoint administrators to simplify the management of their SharePoint environments while focusing on key problem areas, including environment management, sites management, user management, user security management, and list and item management. It allows administrators to automate daily SharePoint management tasks from a single console.

The company said that with the new USPM v2007, SharePoint Administrators can: look at permissions from user, role, item, and system viewpoints; identify and remove ‘dead’ accounts; pinpoint ‘orphaned’ SharePoint sites; monitor and detect trends in SharePoint farms through live reporting; and distinguish between security parameters with stop-light icons.

Chris Risley, CEO of Metalogix, said: SharePoint administrators need powerful management tools to optimise the efficiency, usability and performance of their SharePoint environments.

“Metalogix USPM is the first product to give admins the truly unique features they need to make the daily management of their SharePoint environments both fast and easy.”
