MERGER CRAZY US TELECOMS DIVIDE INTO TWO CAMPS

With take-over fever rampant, US telecommunications companies are divided into two camps – the bidders and those receiving bids. ACC Corp, the Rochester, New York long-distance company, said it has received an unsolicited $875m bid from Tel-Save Holdings Inc and is brooding over the offer.
