MERCURY EXPANDS SATELLITE SERVICES

By CBR Staff Writer

Last month, Mercury Communications Ltd added a raft of enhancements to its satellite services: Transatlantic Plus reduced tariffs on satellite transmission and an extension of digital leased services to the Far East and Asia are all part of Mercury’s drive to trawl more customers. Reductions on transatlantic digital satellite services are at 5% for a three year fixed term or a 10% cut for a five year contract. Mercury denied these moves were in response to PanAmSat’s planned UK entry.
