MERCURY DEMONSTRATES ITS LINK 7500 VERSION OF EASINET

By CBR Staff Writer

Cable & Wireless Plc’s Mercury Communications is demonstrating its Mercury Link 7500 electronic mail service, its new name for the Western Union Easilink that it markets over here. The company has introduced a personal telex number so that all users are allocated a personal number which will be quoted on all outgoing telex messages and can be used as a regular telex address for return messages. It is aimed at smaller businesses which don’t want the expense of a dedicated telex terminal. Enhancements to the service planned for the next couple of months include X400 compatibility and access to databases and paging networks.
