MERCURY BLAMES TELECOM FOR NEW DELAY

By CBR Staff Writer

Mercury Communications has again alleged that British Telecom is sabotaging its efforts to provide competitive services by refusing to provide interconnection links, and now says it has been forced to delay launch of a residential service. The Office of Telecommunications is currently reviewing Mercury’s licence to operate and a Mercury spokesman said that his company’s complaints are undergoing consideration. Mercury now aims to offer residential customers a service by the end of 1988.
