MENTOR GRAPHICS WARNS PROFITS FALLING SHORT OF EXPECTATIONS

By CBR Staff Writer

And Mentor Graphics Corp, Beaverton, Oregon warns that it too will see sales and profits for the second quarter significantly less than the company expected: We are surprised by the severity of the shortfall, it said – While business in both April and May was moderate, it was fairly typical of past quarters; it was only in mid-June that the potential dimensions of the problem began to appear so it is likely to do $100m to $103m sales against $106m a year ago, which means 5 cents to 10 cents a share, a crash from 29 cents a year ago.
