MENTOR GRAPHICS TO ADD REAL-TIME ARM VIA $130M MICROTEC ACQUISITION

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics Corp is to acquire Microtec Research Inc, best known for its VRTX Virtual Real-Time eXecutive operating system for embedded applications, for about $130m in shares. Computer-aided engineering software specialist Mentor is to pay 0.693 of its own shares for each Microtec outstanding. Microtec, Santa Clara also offers software development tools and communications software, and takes in what was Ready Systems.
