Mentor Graphics, a provider of advanced system verification offerings, and Rohde & Schwarz, a supplier of electronic test and measurement equipment, have collaborated to deliver a hardware-accelerated, debug platform for the verification of wireless communication Systems-on-Chip (SoCs).
The combination of Mentor’s Veloce hardware emulation technology with Rohde & Schwarz’s test and measurement equipment delivers a high-performance and productive environment for handling the verification of wireless communication systems.
The Veloce platform with dual mode accelerator and emulator provides high performance for both transaction-based verification and traditional in-circuit emulation (ICE).
Rohde & Schwarz product manager of Mobile Radio Protocol Testers Gerhard Goetz said by combining with Mentor and the Veloce emulator, they can show their customers a high-speed platform that allows them to perform SoC test and integration many weeks or months before they are committed to real silicon, increasing their verification productivity and improving their time-to-market.
"Our customers will be able to access a virtual hardware environment that mimics the functionality of their real silicon to debug their wireless communication chips at high-speeds using our standard test and measurement equipment and software tools," Goetz said.
Mentor Emulation Division (MED) director of marketing Jim Kenney said their combined industry-leading technologies deliver reliable and easy-to-use verification solutions that help their joint customers to innovate and meet their time-to-market pressures for their SoC designs, and continue to expand the iSolve solutions for use with the Veloce product.
