MEMOREX TELEX UK CUTS 35 JOBS IN REORGANISATION

Memorex Telex (UK) Ltd reckons that IBM’s Systems Application Architecture is blurring the distinctions between IBM’s diverse product lines sufficiently successfully that it is no longer appropriate to structure its operations on a line of business basis, and is therefore merging its four main IBM-compatible product groups, and reorganising sales and support on a regional basis. The reorganisation will lead to a loss of up to 35 jobs out of a total swelled to 566 from 480 as a result of adding Telex Corp. It is also moving head office and distribution to a near 100,000 square foot unit on the technology park at Winnersh Triangle, Reading,
