The Wokingham, Berkshire-based Memorex Telex Ltd unit of the Amsterdam-registered Memorex Telex NV has launched the 9300 Internetwork Server family of SNA-to-local network communications systems. The 9311 Network Access Server is said to provide local or remote gateway communications for multiple Token Ring and Ethernet local networks connected to PU 2.0 and PU 2.1 devices. Communications with the IBM Corp host are achieved via single or dual local channels, SDLC to 256Kbps, Token Ring or Ethernet, says the company. The company says the p9311 is also equipped to support Data Link Switching, DLSw, enabling remote 9311 gateways to be integrated with TCP/IP wide area networks. The 9341 LAN Device Server is claimed to provide integration of IBM, TCP/IP, Local Area Transport and Internet Packet Exchange-based hosts with multiple local area network attached desktop services. Using the offering, LAT terminal servers can access the IBM host, and 3270 emulator-equipped personal computers can attach to TCP/IP hosts, says Memorex. Last up is the 9301 Communications Concentrator. According to the company, the 9301 effectively replaces front-end procesors and remote concentrators by supporting up to 22 SDLC links at speeds up to 256Kbps. Single or dual channel, multiple Token Ring or Ethernet interfaces are available for host connection, says Memorex. The Series 9300 range is available now but no prices were given.
