Barco Inc of Atlanta, Georgia has introduced its Megagraphics monitor, measuring 29 and with a resolution up to 1,600 by 1,200 pixels: Megagraphics displays multiple, actual-size pages on a single screen, and by locking on to any frequency between 30KHz and 80KHz, it is said to be compatible with nearly every computer-based system; an invar shadow mask made from a special metal alloy resists expansion, and Barco says that special attention has been paid to the focus and convergence controls; the Dynamic Astigmatism Focus used on the picture tube ensures uniform pixel shape over the entire screen; an adjustable north-south correction enables the convergence of vertical lines to be adjusted to fine tolerances and these adjustments are claimed to eliminate the possiblity of horizontal distortion due to larger display dimensions: the Megagraphics has Megagraphics is available in either desktop or chassis versions and special options include a Universal Latitude Corrector, an Ambient Light Controller, and a Quick Degauss option that accommodates changes in the horizontal magnetic fields up to 5 Gauss; available now, Megagraphics costs $20,000, the company says.
