Texas Scottish Rite Hospital is planning to install the MedSeries4, which is developed to support rural and community healthcare providers in their IT adoption efforts, in early 2008. The MedSeries4 includes solutions for patient care and enterprise resource management, as well as laboratory, pharmacy, radiology and document management systems.

MedSeries4 is expected to help Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) in delivering browser-based workflow for clinicians and to provide easier access to patient information for physicians and staff. MedSeries4 clinical applications will lay the groundwork for computerized physician order entry and an electronic health record at TSRHC.

Hunt Gregg, director of information systems at TSRHC, said: MedSeries4 addresses both our department-specific and interdisciplinary needs, eliminates redundant activities, and enables streamlined coordination of care processes, all while being a very easy system for our staff to use. We also anticipate that MedSeries4 will help us to move toward our long-term goal of creating an electronic health record for use and reference by physicians and staff in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.
