According to the companies, the new E-HealthKey will store an individual’s medical conditions, drug dosages, emergency contacts and insurance information in order to facilitate access to important health information in an emergency.

The device is also designed to enable users to monitor personal programs and fitness goals, by accessing web site links and content related to specific medical conditions and receiving alerts to remind users of important events such as prescription times and doctors’ appointments.

Data stored in the MedicAlert E-HealthKey can be directly uploaded to MedicAlert’s repository through the company’s web site, where changes can then be downloaded to the E-HealthKey

The core mission of MedicAlert is to protect and help safeguard the lives of our members in an emergency, said Paul Kortschak, president of MedicAlert. The MedicAlert E-HealthKey not only re-affirms our commitment to our members that their medical information is readily available, but also enables them to efficiently manage their personal health information through new technologies.
