Media Vision Inc, Fremont, California claims the first complete, off-the-shelf family of integrated circuits for adding multimedia audio to MS-DOS computers, and has teamed up with Cirrus Logic Inc to get them fabricated: the set consists of the CMOS MVD101 Multimedia Audio Controller – an AT bus part, the MVD 201 compression-decompression processor, compatible with the Sound Blaster or Adlib add-in boards; the CMOS MVD201 is an audio processor designed to be tightly coupled to the MVD101; the MVA416 offers 16-bit analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversion at up to 50KHz per channel; the MVA611 is an automatic gain control bipolar Microphone and Power Amplifier; prices – in 25,000-up quantities – range from $3.27 for the MVA611 to $14 for the MVD 101; as part of the agreement under which Cirrus Logic will make parts for Media Vision, it has increased its equity shareholding in the company.
