MCI COMMUNICATIONS NOT IMPRESSED BY RECOMMENDATION BY US FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION

By CBR Staff Writer

Doesn’t sound as if MCI Communications is over-impressed by the US Federal Communications Commission’s recommendation to Judge Harold Greene that he should liberate the AT&T orphanages to compete in the long-distance telephone market and to manufacture telecommunications equipment: in a statement, the Washington DC company describes the recommendation as no less than a flagrant attempt to overturn the nation’s anti-trust laws (you don’t suppose 16% shareholder IBM put it up to saying that, do you?)
