MCI Communications Inc, which had been saying that write-down and restructuring charges in the fourth quarter would total $500m to $700m pre-tax, but the company now says that the net figure will be $500m to $550m, implying a big net loss for all of 1986; it did $54.1m net in the first nine months of 1986.
