MBS FACES WRITE-OFF ON FAILURE OF IRISH PARTNER

By CBR Staff Writer

Micro Business Systems Plc, the quoted microcomputer distributor, faces write-offs and other costs that observers in Ireland say may approach UKP500,000 on the failure of its Irish partner, Dublin-based Manufacturing Management Systems Ltd. MBS is remaining tight-lipped ahead of the creditors meeting, set for today, which has been called to approve the appointment of the Dublin branch of Ernst & Whinney as liquidators. MBS has 40% of the Irish company, which is its 50% partner in MBS Rentals (Ireland), and hopes to come out of the liquidation with a new wholly-owned Irish operation. Details – page two.
