MAXTOR TO ACQUIRE US DESIGN

Maxtor Corp, San Jose, and US Design Corp have ironed out the snags in the agreement under which Maxtor wants to acquire US Design and the pact is now definitive: Maxtor will issue $12m of new shares for the company, the number to be determined by the average closing price of Maxtor stock over the 10 trading day period ending on the day before the acquisition.
