MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL COMMITS MORE TO PC AND WORKSTATION DEVELOPMENT

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co is to devote more effort to the development of personal computer and workstation systems, and enhance its systems integration skills, with the aim of trebling the staff in that area by 1992: Matsushita currently manufactures both the 16 and 32-bit Panacom M series, and the 32-bit BE workstation range; currently there are 16 people in systems integration; the firm is targeting peripherals, communications processors, facsimile and ISDN terminals.
