Bangalore-based Mascot’s move underlines the trend for India’s software services companies to add BPO capabilities such as document processing and call center operation. IT&T provides contact center and facilities management, and the acquisition is waiting approval by Mascot’s board of directors.

Mascot is part of acquisitive Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based iGate Corp, which has 4,000 employees based at offshore centers in Bangalore and Chennai, and sales outlets in the US, Europe and Far East. If the takeover of IT&T is approved, it would represent Mascot’s third acquisition in the past six months, following its purchase of US-based eJiva and Hyderabad-based Aqua Regia.
