Marvell Technology Group has reported revenue of $901m for the fourth quarter of FY11, an increase of 7% as compared to $843m of the same period last fiscal.

For the quarter ended 29 January 2011, the company reported an operating income of $215.7m, as compared to $205.8m in the same period last year.

The company posted gross profit of $529m in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011, compared to $503m for the same quarter fiscal 2010.

Marvell Technology posted a net income of $222.9m and $0.33 EPS, as compared to net income of $205m and $0.31 EPS of the same period last year.

For the fiscal year 2011, the company’s net revenues, operating income and net income increased to $2.14bn, $901.2m and $904.1m, respectively, from $2.8bn, $334.1m and $353.4m in the previous year.

Marvell chairman and chief executive officer Sehat Sutardja said the company had a strong fiscal year for 2011 with revenues up 29% from the previous year, and free cash flow of nearly $1.1bn or $1.60 per share.

"While the results for our fourth quarter continue to be affected by seasonal declines in our mobile and wireless end markets, we are well positioned with competitive products to take advantage of the trends in the coming years," Sutardja said.
