Marubeni reckons that business forms and papers is a promising growth area in the US, not least because of the rapid penetration of facsimile machines, and has spent $3.5m buying a Massachusetts company which brings with it two subsidiaries, Precision Roll in Texas and Eastern Data Products in Maryland: Marubeni has been exporting $6.5m of papers and forms to the US annually, but quotes figures suggesting that the US computer forms market grew 18% in 1987 while the market for rools of facsimile paper expanded by 31%.
