Warrington, Chesire-based independent service supplier Martin Dawes Communications has completed deals to acquire CellWest Communications of Bristol, Glasgow-based Radioscan and Croydon Vodafone supplier Softcel, extending its total client base to over 60,000: Dawes has not released the financial details of the acquisitions, which involve varying combinations of cash and shares, but says that the total annual turnover of the new businesses amounts to UKP12m; the CellWest takeover makes Dawes a sponsor for Richard Branson’s planned trans-Pacific balloon flight this month, for which it is supplying air-traffic control equipment in the capsule, and Oki CLD 700E portable telephones for the UK ground crew.
