Mari Advanced Microelectronics Ltd, Newcastle has won government support for two job creation schemes in the North East; Infant – Innovatory Factory for New Technology, enabling the unemployed to train to become electronics technicians; and Chant – Centre for High Technology Action in North Tyneside, where the jobless will be encouraged to start up their own high tech businesses: Mari will get part of a UKP1m government grant to further its projects.
