Marchcom, a UK-based online investment relations consultancy, has launched the first European service to deliver live video presentations from equity analysts over the Internet using RealNetworks’ web streaming software. The webcasting service, called E-TV, is designed to overcome the time and travel constraints which often restrict the number of meetings a quoted company can arrange between its sponsoring analysts and its key investors. Paul Reynolds, Marchcom’s development director, says that E-TV will allow quoted European companies to reach a wider financial audience because analyst briefings will be delivered live and as an archived version for later viewing. Marchcom envisages that end users of the service will include both buy and sell-side analysts, researchers, high-net-worth individuals, fund managers and professional investment advisors. Users will need to download RealNetworks’ RealVideo RealPlayer software, and access to the video streams can be controlled by password if required.
