Mantic plans to offer the products as part of its Chaperone suite, which integrates real-time tracking data from RFID readers with data from other hospital systems in an effort to help hospitals and clinics track mobile assets and optimize their utilization, control capital equipment costs and enhance patient and staff safety.
Andrew Berger, vice president, International, Alien Technology, said of the agreement: Clinical environments, pharmaceuticals tracking and healthcare applications in general are ideal for RFID-based tracking, with hospitals alone facing huge challenges in effectively managing their mobile assets.
