ManTech awarded $23.9m security contract

Fairfax, Virginia-based ManTech International is to provide security services to the US Department of State's Bureau of Information Resource Management as part of a five-year, $23.9m deal.

According to the contract, ManTech will offer defensive technical security safeguards to the Bureau of Information Resource Management. It will also provide administrative and organizational support to implement life cycle security systems that protect IT and other electronic equipment.

Kurt Snapper, president of ManTech Security Technologies Corporation, said: The technologies for penetrating and compromising cyber and communications systems have proliferated over the past several years, and we are committed to continuing to develop and implement cost-effective countermeasures.

ManTech said it has been supporting the Department of State for more than 16 years developing technical, physical and cyber security programs.
